JOE SCOTTS REPORT,LEAGUE WEEK 11

Welcome back to the FonaCab Central darts league where after Clonards Hibs success in the John Caseys cup all focus was back on the league where week 11 was upon us. This week saw St Matts take on Caseys with both teams showing excellent form in last weeks cup. Hibs 58 hosted star Celtic while Donegal Celtic travelled to Casement. O’Donnell’s played host to the Forresters while Clonard Hibs were on the road to Crumlin Star. Without further ado let’s see how the night developed.

Our first game saw St Matts host Caseys with both teams looking to continue their good form. Game 1 saw Con Kielty get St Matthews off to a good start beating Peter Leckey 2-0 in 23 and 27 darts. Joe O’Kane put in a man of the man shift beating Liam McMenamin 2-0 in 20 and 22 darts. Brian Kerr rallied his team beating Pat McGahan 2-0 in 22 darts before MT followed suit beating Jap McKinley 2-1. Joe McAttamney combined scoring and finishing to good effect beating Stevie Leckey 2-0. McAttamney finishing in 18 darts with a 115 and 116 finish. Jim Lavery made it 4-2 to the st Matts men beating Olcan Kearney 2-1 before Billy McDade secures the full points beating Matt Boyle 2-0 in 23 and 2£ darts. The final game saw Martin Irwin beating Eugene Brannigan 2-1 with Irwin winning in 26 darts. The final score: St Matthews 6-3 Caseys.

The second game of the night saw league leaders Hibs 58 welcome Star Celtic to the Hibs Club. Game 1 saw Tucker Clarke get the Hibs men off to a flyer beating Tony Kelly 2-0 in 21 and 24 darts. Tony Corr extended their lead beating Gerard Smith in 29 darts. Martin Mooney made it 3-0 beating Stephen Curley in 25 and 26 darts before Peter McDonnell snr put Hibs within touching distance of the full points beating Paddy McAlleese in 22 and 25 darts. Martin Corbett secured the full points beating Eamon McGovern in 21 and 27 darts. Davy McCusker put in a man of the match display beating Rab Lyttle 2-1 in 21 and 22 darts. Gerard Burns pulled one back for the Star Celtic mn beating Mark Lynch 2-1 in 29 and 32 darts, with lynch winning in 24 darts. The final game of the night saw Sean Patterson beat Henry McTasney snr 2-0 in 28 darts. The final score: Hibs 58 7-1 Star Celtic.

The next game of the night saw The Forresters travel to O’Donnells with both teams looking to secure valuable points. The first game saw Ricky Saddler get O’Donnells off the mark beating Kevin Robinson 2-1 in 24 and 28 darts, with Robinson winning in 26 darts. Eddie Robb furthered their lead beating Paul Stafford 2-1 in 26 darts, Stafford providing strong resistance with an 18 darter of his own. Kevin O’Neill continued O’Donnells dominant display beating John Toner in 23 darts before Jim McStravick made it 4-0 beating Sean Fitzpatrick 2-1. McStravick winning in 23 and 31 darts while Fitzpatrick provided stern resistance with a 26 darter. Sean McCurdy rallied his team beating Stevie Jones 2-1 before James McStravick guaranteed the full points beating Freddie Steagles 2-0. Rab Green weighed in with a man of the match performance beating Andy Gray in 20 darts. The final game of the night saw Paul Press beat Paddy Dempsey 2-1 in 24 darts.

The penultimate game of the night saw Casement welcome Donegal Celtic to the Casement Club. The first game of the night saw Alan Hanna get Donegal Celtic off to a flyer beating Vinty Lenzie 2-1 in 26 darts. Henry McCann levelled the match in beating Dee Ireland 2-0 in 21 and 24 darts. Paul Condon provided Casement with the lead with a man of the match performance over Matt Doone. Condon winning in 19 and 22 darts. Kieran McGuinness furthered Casements lead in beating Kevin O’Carroll 2-1 before Chinky Smith pulled on back against Ciaran McKay. Smith winning with a brace of 30 darts while McKay won in 21 darts with a 105 finish. Joe Doone reestablished Casements lead beating Paddy McKeown 2-0 in 26 and 27 darts. Paddy McGuinness continued his good form with a 2-1 win over Gerry McCormick before Michael Tierney secures full points for the Casement men with a 2-0 win over Colm McGuinness. The final score: Casement 5-3 Donegal Celtic.

The final game of the night saw Clonard Hibs, after a dominant display in the cup last week, travel to Crumlin Star. The Hibs men continued their good form with an 8-0 win. Conor Toner got the Hibs men off to a flyer beating Hugh Greaves Anto Smith made it 2-0 before John McGrath furthered their lead. Tommy Fitzpatrick put the Hibs men within touching distance of full points before Stephen Magee put in a man of the match shift to guarantee full points for the Hibs men. The final three games saw Dan Delaney, Adam McDade and Conor Hanna win. The final score Crumlin Star 0-8 Clonard Hibs.

Next week sees the the qualifying night for the Sparrow McLaughlin cup take place. Until next week keep practicing and remember to hold your nerve.
