Welcome back to the FonaCab Central darts league where week 15 is upon us. With Hibs 58 leading the way at the top of the league with Clonard Hibs, Casement and O’Donnells all giving chase every point would be important. This week Hibs 58 played host to The Forresters, while Clonard Hibs were on their travels to Star Celtic. O’Donnell’s would take on Casement after their thriller in the Patterson Cup Final. Caseys and Donegal Celtic would battle it out while St Matthews hosted Crumlin Star in what promised to be another exciting night of darts. Without further ado let’s see how the night unfolded.
O’Donnell’s 5-3 Casement
The first match of the night saw Casement make the short journey to O’Donnells who were looking to continue their excellent form winning to cups on the bounce. Casement, their latest victims in the Patterson Cup, were looking to dish out some revenge. Game 1 saw Rab Green get the O’Donnells men off to a perfect start beating Henry McCann 2-0 in 22 and 24 darts. Stevie Jones extended their lead beating Gerry Mccormick with a brace of 22 darts, while Mccormick provided stern opposition with an 18 darter. Vinty Lenzie weighed in with a well timed man of the match performance to halve the deficit. Lenzie beating James McStravick with a brace of 20 darts. Charlie Press levelled the match beating Paul Press 2-0 in 25 darts before Ricky Saddler wrestled back the lead for O’Donnells. Saddler beating Joe Doone 2-1 with a brace of 20 darts. Michael Tierney restored parity in beating Eddie Robb 2-1 in 25 darts before Kev O’Neill overcame Paul Condon 2-0 to provided O’Donnells with the lead going into the last game. The last game saw Tucker Kearney battle it out with Ciaran McKay with neither man wanting to give an inch. However it was Kearney to prevail 2-1 and ensure maximum points for O’Donnells.
Star Celtic 3-5 Clonard Hibs
The second match of the night saw Clonard Hibs take on star Celtic, who were fresh off their excellent Curran Cup display. Game one saw Stephen Magee take care of Rab Lyttle 2-0 in 22 and 23 darts. Dan Delaney followed suit by beating Aaron McGovern 2-0 in 22 darts. Gerard Burns reduced their lead with a man of the match display beating Joe Flannery in 21 and 22 darts. Gerard Smith restored parity by beating John Doyle 2-1 in 26 darts. Dan Sloan regained the lead for the Hibs men beating Henry McTasney snr 2-0 before Henry McTasney jnr levelled the match beating Anto Smith 2-0. With the match finely poised Hibs relied on Conor Hanna to regain their lead, which he duly obliged by beating Paddy McAlleese 2-0 in 19 darts. The last game of the night saw Tony Kelly battle it out with Adam McDade. Both men scored well however it was McDade to continue his excellent form and prevail 2-0 winner.
Hibs 58 6-2 The Forresters
The next match of the night saw The Forresters make the journey to Hibs 58 looking to put a halt to their march to be league Champions. Sean Fitzpatrick got the Forresters men off to a flyer beating Peter McDonnell snr 2-0 in 24 darts taking out a lovely 70 along the way. Martin Corbett quickly levelled the match beating Keving Robinson 2-0 in 21 and 22 darts. Martin Mooney provided Hibs with the lead beating Andy Gray 2-0 in 23 darts before Davy McCusker overcame Gerard Callaghan 2-0 to further Hibs lead. McCusker weighing in with 2x180s and a 16 darter. Tucker Clarke put the Hibs men within touching distance of maximum points, beating Paul Stafford 2-0 in 15 darts. Sean McCurdy tried to rally his team by beating Sean Patterson 2-0 in 29 darts. However Tony Corr has other ideas, weighing in with a man of the match performance to guarantee full points for Hibs 58. Corr beating Paddy Dempsey 2-0 in 18 and 19 darts. The final game of the night saw Mark Lynch battle it out with Freddie Steagles. Both men scored well, however it was Lynchs class to prevail winning 2-0.
Due to unforeseen circumstances the Individuals will be postponed for a week. Therefore the fixtures for this week are as follows:
