PAT MCGAHANS REPORT ON FINALS NIGHT OF THE JODY REYNOLDS INDIVIDUALS.

MARTIN MOONEY WINS JODY REYNOLDS INDIVIDUALS.

This was the night when the last 32 players met to win the prestigious Jody Reynolds individuals and

there was also the Consolation cup for all those that were beat in the previous qualifying rounds

So now its down to the quarter finals

Quarter Final 1.

In the first quarter final it was Gary Smith against Ben Lagan and this was to go all the way with Ben

Lagan coming out on top Gary hit a 20 darter which included a 110 finish but Ben also hit a 23 &24

darter that included a 108 finish

Quarter Final 2.

This was another cracking game that went all the way between Tucker Clarke and Peter McDonnell

snr. Tuckers two games included a 20 darter but Peter threw superb (17/17 & 21) to edge the match

Quarter Final 3.

This match saw two 58 team mates play each other and it was Martin Mooney (20&20) who beat

Davy McCusker (17&180) 3-1 in another smashing match

Quarter Final 4.

In this match it turned out to be a one sided affair as Gerard Holmes (180) beat Pearce Maguire 3-0

So now we are down to the semi final stage and they turned out to be two smashing matches

SEMI FINAL 1.

This matched paired Gerard Holmes against Martin Mooney and these two threw great darts Gerard

won two games which included 24 and 18 darts (80 bull finish) but Martin threw sublime (20/15&20)

to edge the match 3-2

SEMI FINAL 2.

This was also a great game with both Ben Lagan and Peter McDonnell snr throwing great darts but it

was to be Ben (26/21&26) that beat Peter 3-1 and put himself into the final

THE FINAL.

The rooms in the Hibs club were packed and the two players Martin Mooney and Ben Lagan certainly

did not disappoint Martin took the first in the best of 7 final in 19 darts and repeated this in the

second leg with 19 darts again Ben took the next with a 20 darter of his own only for Martin to fire in

a 21 darter and make it 3-1 and the final was over when Martin won the fifth leg in 26 to take the

trophy

A big congratulations to Martin Mooney on winning the Jody Reynolds individuals for the 2018/19

season and commiserations to Ben and all the other throwers on the night

In the consolation cup which consists of one game of 701 and also was played in the Hibs club ended

up as follows;

SEMI FINAL 1​.

Paddy McGuinness bt Joe McAttamney

SEMI FINAL 2.

Rab Lyttle bt Tucker Kearney

THE FINAL.

Rab Lyttle beat Paddy McGuinness to claim the trophy and I must state for the second time in three

years since we started this cup

A big congratulations to Rab and commiserations to Paddy and all the throwers who took part
