CASEYS WIN LOCAL DERBY

Caseys beat local rivals Casement Clonard Hibs have a great win away to St Matthews Donegal Celtic claim first win against Suffolk Celtic Hibs 58 beat Star Celtic to maintain 100 per cent record and Crumlin Star beat the Forresters

 

Casement 2 Caseys 6

Caseys won the bragging rights in this local derby Dan Cahoon (20) beat Paul Condon (24) 2-1 to make it 1-0 and it was 2-0 when Seamy Roberts (26&21) beat Eddie Robb (25) 2-1 It was then 3-0 when Kevin Mallon (28&20) beat Michael Tierney Things got even better when Matt Boyle (26&21) beat Joe Doone (23) 2-1 and the points were safe when Gerard Holmes (18&26) beat Henry McCann 2-0 Up next Gerry McCormick (23) got Casement on the board with a 2-0 win over Steven Leckey to make it 5-1 and Eugene Brannigan made it 6-1 with a 2-0 win over Vinty Lenzi and in the final game Ricky Saddler (25&19) beat Paul Smith 2-0 to leave the final score at 6-2 to Caseys

 

St Matthews 3 Clonard Hibs 5

Clonard travelled over to the St Matthews club and came away with the points with a good win in a tight game Up first Dessie Magee (23&20) beat John McCann 2-0 only for Sean Paul Grant(20&18) to put in a man of the match performance to beat Davy McCusker 2-0 and level matters In the next game Conor Hanna (23&16) beat Martin Irwin (25) 2-1 only for Allan Brown (22&18) to beat Dan Delaney and level at 2-2 It was 3-2 to Clonard when Kevin Campbell (25)beat Jim Lavery 2-0 but once again it was level when Billy McDade (26) beat Adam McDade (16) 2-1 The next game saw Pearse Maguire (20) beat Joe O Kane (23) 2-1 in a tight game and Anto Smith stepped up in the final game to beat Con Kielty (24) 2-1 to claim the points

 

Donegal Celtic 5 Suffolk Celtic 3

DC got their first win of the season with a good win against Suffolk Celtic. Incredibly they raced into a 5-0 lead starting with Joe Corr (29&28) beating Harry Smith 2-0 and that was followed by a man of the match performance by Matt Doone (23&27) beating Tucker Kearney 2-0 with both players hitting 180 each and it was 3-0 when Sean Armstrong beat Junior McManus 2-1 and it was 4-0 thanks to a 2-1 win for Kevin O Carroll (24) over Kevin O Neill The points were safe when Chinky Smith (29&23) beat Patrick McGeown 2-0 Suffolk got on the board when James McStravick (26) beat Alan Hanna 2-0 and it was 5-2 when Joe Flannery beat Seamus Armstrong jnr 2-0 and in the final game Jim Lynch (25&28) beat Felix McGeown 2-0 to leave it at 5-3 to the DC

 

Hibs 58 6 Star Celtic 2

Hibs kept up their 100 per cent record and starting them of was Martin Mooney (24&18) with a 2-0 win over Rab Lyttle It was 1-1 when Henry mcTasney jnr (27&24) beat Peter McDonnell jnr 2-1 and the match was at 2-1 to 58 when Peter McDonnell snr (25&26) beat Tony Kelly It was 3-1 when Damien Corbett (23) beat Harry mcTasney snr 2-0 and it was 4-1 when Mark Lynch(17&24) put on a man of the match performance to beat Stevie Mcguigan jnr 2-0 The points were safe when Tucker Clarke (22&28) beat Stephen Curley 2-0 and it was 6-1 when Martin Corbett (20) beat Eamon McGovern 2-0 and Gerard Smith pulled one back for the Star Celtic in the final game with a 2-0 win over Sean Patterson

 

Crumlin Star 5 Forresters 3

Ben Lagan (24) put the Star 1-0 up with a 2-0 win over Oliver McMahon and it was 2-0 when Dougie Bowes(28) beat Paul Stafford 2-0

It was 3-0 when Robert Creen (26&24) put in a man of the match performance in his 2-0 win over Ray Lavery. Seamie Martin (25) then made it 4-0 with a 2-0 win over Michael Burns The Forresters got on the scoresheet thanks to a 2-1 win for Martin Stafford over James Porter and it was then 4-2 when Kevin Robinson (27) beat Tommy Henry (180) 2-1 but then Peter Fitzpatrick stepped in with a 2-0 win against Gerard Callaghan to secure the points and in the final game the evergreen Andy Gray beat Peter McAlorum 2-1 to leave the final score at 5-3 to the Star

At this point I would like to apologise for no report last week due to unforeseen circumstances but I would like to give a quick round up of the results

Finally this week sees two split cups .The top half cup will be the Martin Curran cup which will be held in the St Matthews club and the bottom half cup will be the Caseys cup which is a new cup and this will be held in the Casement club
