CRUMLIN STAR STUN HIBS 58

The John Patterson cup took place in the Hibs club with all ten teams involved in the usual 701 format so there was two preliminary matches and four quarter finals

Incredibly the draw paired the four bottom teams against each other

PRELIMINARY I

DONEGAL CELTIC 5 SUFFOLK CELTIC 3

Chinky Smith got the DC of with a win over Caolan Kearney but man of the match Patrick McGeown (27&63fin) made it 1-1 beating Dee Ireland. The DC went 2-1 up thanks to Joe Corr beating Tucker Kearney but again it was level when Junior McManus (32) beat Kevin O Carroll This time it was Suffolk who went 3-2 up when Harry Smith beat Matt Doone but that's as good as it got for them because the DC reeled off the next three games to go through thanks to Sean Armstrong beating Jim Lynch followed by Paddy McGuinness (37) beating James McStravick and Seamus Armstrong snr wrapped things up beating Kevin O Neill to leave the final score at 5-3

PRELIMINARY MATCH 2

FORRESTERS 5 STAR CELTIC 3

Sean Fitzpatrick got things going for the Forresters beating Gerard Smith but it was 1-1 when Henry mcTasney snr(30) produced a man of the match performance against Martin Stafford.Tony Kelly put the Star 2-1 up with a win over Sean McCurdy only for Gerard Callaghan to make it 2-2 beating Stephen Curley and Stevie Murphy made it 3-2 to Forresters with a good win over Aaron McGovern but Star Celtic made it all square thanks to Brendan McStravick beating Paddy Black but Forresters went 4-3 up thanks to Paul Stafford beating Rab Lyttle and Oliver McMahon put them through with a win over Henry mcTasney jnr

ST MATTHEWS 5 FORRESTERS 0

This was a bit of a one sided affair with St Matthews winning 5-0 with some good darts starting with Davy McCusker(28&180) beating Paul Stafford. Con Kielty(32) beat Gerard Callaghan to make it 2 and it was 3 when Billy McDade beat Andy Gray and Micky McCartan(38) made it 4 beating Ray Lavery to leave Allan Brown (27)to produce a man of the match performance to put St Matthews into the semifinals

Paul Condon(28) got Casement going with a man of the match performance against Joe Corr and it was 2-0 when Henry McCann (30) beat Sean Armstrong Kevin O Carroll pulled one back for the DC beating Joe Doone but Gerry McCormick (30) made it 3-1 when he beat Seamus Armstrong snr. Ciaran McKay (34) made it 4-1 with a win over Davy Smith and Eddie Robb (37) sent Casement into the semifinals when he beat Chinky Smith

CLONARD HIBS 5 CASEYS 2

Caseys got off to a great start with a man of the match performance from Dan Cahoon (27&180) beating Tommy Fitzpatrick it was 2-0 when Gerard Holmes (37) beat Dan Delaney but incredibly that was as good as it got for Caseys with Clonard reeling off the next five games thanks to Anto Smith (34) beating Peter Leckey and then Conor Hanna (36) won a tight game against Brian Kerr. That was followed by a win for Pearse Maguire (35) over Stephen Leckey and it was 4-2 when John McCann beat Seamy Roberts and Sean Paul Grant sealed the win beating Matt Boyle

CRUMLIN STAR 5 HIBS 58 2

This was definitely the shock of the night with Crumlin Star beating the unbeaten league side Hibs 58 .It was 58 who went 1-0 up thanks to Tony Corr beating Robert Creen but Ben Lagan (30) made it 1-1 beating Peter McDonnell snr. Tommy Henry(29) produced a man of the match performance to beat Damien Corbett and it was 3-1 to the Star when Seamie Martin (30) beat Mark Lynch. Martin Corbett made it 3-2 by putting one back against Peter McAlorum but Freddie Stilgees then made it 4-2 with a win over Jap Craig and in the next game Peter Fitzpatrick sent the Star into the semifinals when he beat Martin Mooney who hit the scores (180) but couldn't hit the double to leave the final score at 5-2 to the Crumlin Star

Next week its the semifinals and final of the John Patterson cup starting at 9 0 Clock in the Hibs club

CLONARD HIBS BEAT DC IN TIGHT GAME

Clonard Hibs beat Dc in good game Star Celtic take a good point at home to an in form Caseys Hibs 58 thump Forresters Casement have strong home win over Crumlin Star and St Matthews win easily away to Suffolk Celtic

DC 3 CLONARD HIBS 5

John Doyle had a 2-0 win over Joe Corr and that was followed by a 2-0 win for John McCann over Seamus Armstrong snr. In the next game Conor Hanna (16&24) produced a man of the match performance in another 2-0 win against Seamus Armstrong jnr Back came the Dc through Chinky Smith (23&23) beating Anto Smith 2-0 and the match was at 3-2 when Alan Hanna (25&21) beat Dan Delaney (18&180) 2-1.Adam McDade (23&22) beat Sean Armstrong 2-0 to make it 4-2 to Clonard but Matt Doone beat Tommy Fitzpatrick 2-1 to take it to the last game in which Pearse Maguire (21&24) beat Davy Smith to claim the points for Hibs

STAR CELTIC 4 CASEYS 4

This was a good result for Celtic against an in form Caseys.Seamy Roberts beat Stephen Curley 2-1to get the away side going but Brendan McStravick (24) beat Eugene Brannigan 2-0 to make it 1-1 The away side went 2-1 up thanks to a man of the match performance from Brian Kerr (32&24) in a 2-1 win over Rab Lyttle (26) but it was level again when Paul Fitzpatrick (24) beat Stephen Leckey 2-1.This time Celtic went ahead thanks to a 2-0 win for Gerard Smith (24) over Matt Boyle only for Kevin Mallon to level the game again with a 2-1 win over Henry mcTasney jnr. Tony Kelly then edged the home side ahead thanks to a 2-0 win over Gerry McIlduff and in the final game Dan Cahoon gave Caseys a share of the points with a 2-1 win over Henry mcTasney snr

HIBS 58 8 FORRESTERS 0

This was a one sided affair with 58 winning all eight games starting with a 2-0 win for Martin Mooney over Paddy Black. In the next game Damien Corbett (24&18) produced a man of the match performance which included a 135 bull finish in a 2-0 win over Martin Stafford. It was 3-0 when Tony Corr (25&23&180) beat Sean McCurdy 2-1and it was 4 when

Tucker Clarke (23&25&180) beat Michael Burns 2-0 Mark Lynch (24)made it 5 with a 2-0 win over Ray Lavery and it was 6-0 when Peter McDonnell snr (17) beat Andy Gray 2-0 Next up was Martin Corbett (22&25) with a 2-0 win over Oliver McMahon and Sean Patterson (24&29) made it 8-0 with a 2-1 win over Paul Stafford

CASEMENT 7 CRUMLIN STAR 1

Casement threw great darts in a convincing win over Crumlin Star. Getting things going was Paul Condon (28&21) with a 2-1 win over Peter Fitzpatrick (28)and it was 2-0 when Henry McCann (29&26) beat Seamie Martin 2-1 Eddie Robb (21) made it 3-0 with a good 2-0 win over Dougie Bowes and Vinty Lenzi (22&22) made it 4-0 with a 2-0 win over Tommy Henry. Ricky Saddler(21&29) made sure of the points with a 2-1 win over Robert Creen (28).In the next game Ben Lagan(22&19) put the Star on the scoresheet with a man of the match performance in a 2-0 win over Joe Doone but that's as good as it got for the Star with Gerry McCormick (22&24) beating Peter McAlorum 2-1 and then Chopper McKay(26) enjoyed a 2-1 win over Freddie Stilgees to leave the final score at 7-1 to the home side

SUFFOLK CELTIC 1 ST MATTHEWS 7

St Matthews travelled up to the Suffolk Celtic and came away with a great win Up first was Davy McCusker (19&25) with a good 2-0 win over Tucker Kearney and Micky McCartan (22) made it 2-0 with a 2-0 win over Junior McManus and in the next game Dessie Magee (15&24) produced a man of the match performance in a 2-0 win over Patrick McGeown In the next game Con Kielty made it 4-0 with another 2-0 win and the points were secured with yet another 2-0 win this time for Martin Irwin (19) in a good game with Jim Lynch and Billy McDade (18) made it 6-0 (we won't mention the first game) in another 2-0 win over Caolan Kearney James McStravick(22) got a leg on the board for Suffolk but lost 21 to Joe McAttamney (27&27) so it was left to Kevin O Neill (20) to put Suffolk on the scoresheet with a 2-0 win over Jimmy Lavery

Next week is the John Patterson cup in the Hibs club with an 8.30 start

This was a one sided affair with a solid win for the St Matthews team First up was Davy McCusker (36) 140/83/140/123 beating Matt Boyle and it was 2-0 when Billy McDade (37) 125/100/97 beat Brian Kerr and man of the match Allan Brown (35) 140/81/100 made it 3-0 beating Seamy Roberts and putting his side into the final

SEMI FINAL 2

HIBS 58 A 3 CLONARD HIBS 1

This was a tense affair between the two Hibs teams and it was 1-0 to 58 thanks to Mark Lynch (35) 100/85/137/81 beating Sean Paul Grant. It was 2-0 thanks to Peter McDonnell snr (35) beating Adam McDade. In the next game Conor Hanna(33&78fin) pulled one back for Clonard but then Tucker Clarke(26) threw a man of the match performance 100/121/100/80/95 to beat Pearse Maguire and put 58 in the final

THE FINAL

ST MATTHEWS A 3 HIBS 58 A 0

Once again St Matthews had a 3-0 win which would not have been predicted beforehand. In the first game Dessie Magee 95/99/95/97/100 beat Martin Mooney and it was 2-0 when Allan Brown(26) produced his third man of the match performance of the night 100/100/140/100 with a good win over Tucker Clarke who hit the big 180 and in the next game Davy McCusker 95/100/100/100 hit the winning double against his old team mates to beat Jap Craig and win the trophy for St Matthews I would like to congratulate St Matthews on a great win and commiserate with all the other seven teams on the night. I would like to thank the Hibs club for their sponsorship and use of their club. It's back to league fixtures next week

58 beat Clonard Hibs to remain unbeaten Suffolk Celtic win away to Star Celtic Casement win away to Forresters St Matthews win at home to Crumlin Star and Caseys and the DC share the spoils

CLONARD HIBS 2 HIBS 58 6

Conor Hanna (15,119 bull finish &18) got Clonard off to a great start with a man of the match performance beating Peter McDonnell snr 2-0 but it was soon 1-1 when Damien Corbett (26&27) beat Dan Sloan (24&101fin) 2-1.Tony Corr (28&23) then beat Sean Paul 2-1 Grant and Martin Mooney (20&24)beat Anto Smith 2-0 In the next game Sean Patterson (27&138 fin) beat Pearse Maguire (180) 20 to make it 4-1 but Adam McDade (26&23) beat Martin Corbett 2-0 to keep his side in it only for Tucker Clarke (23&28) to step up with a 2-0 win over Kevin Campbell to secure the points and in the final game Mark Lynch (29&19) beat Tommy Fitzpatrick to leave the final score at 6-2 to 58

Patrick McGeown put the away side one up with a 2-0 win over Aaron McGovern only for Paul Fitzpatrick(28) to level with a 2-0 win over Harry Smith Caolan Kearney put Suffolk 2-1 up with a 2-0 win over Henry mcTasney jnr but again it was level thanks to a Paddy McAleese(26&29) beating Junior McManus 2-0 Once again the away team went ahead thanks this time to Tucker Kearney beating Gerard Smith 2-0 and it was 4-2 when Kevin O Neill (27&26) and the 180 in a 2-0 man of the match performance against EamonMcGovernThe points were safe when Paul Press (26) beat Stephen Curley 2-1 and in the final game Brendan McStravick (24) beat Jim Lynch (24) 2-1 to leave it at 5-3 to Suffolk

The Forresters got of to a good start with Sean McCurdy beating Ciaran McGuinness 2-0 but it was 1-1 when Eddie Robb beat Ray Lavery 2-0 In the next game Stevie Murphy(29&21) produced a man of the match performance in a 2-0 win over Sean Kerr to make it 2-1 but it was 2-2 when Henry McCann (23) beat Michael Burns 2-1 Casement went 3-2 ahead thanks to Joe Doone beating Paul Stafford 2-1 and it was 4-2 when Gerry McCormick (25) beat Andy Gray 2-0 The Forresters stayed in the game thanks to Kevin Robinson beating Martin Lawlor 2-1 but Ricky Saddler (23) made sure of the points with a 2-0 win over Martin Stafford

Martin Irwin (16&27) beat an unlucky Tommy Henry to make it 1-0 but it was soon 1-1 when Robert Creen (19&25) won another tight game in a 2-1 win over Con Kielty The Star then went 2-1 up thanks to a 2-0 win for Dougie Bowes (24&25) over Jap McKinley only for Dessie Magee (16&25) to produce a man of the match performance in beating Ben Lagan 2-0 to level matters at 2-2 Big Davy McCusker (27&24&180) then beat Paul Porter 2-0 to make it 3-2 and it was 4-2 when Allan Brown (26&22) beat Peter Fitzpatrick The Star stayed in the match when Seamie Martin beat Kyle Dillon 2-1 only for Billy McDade to beat Freddie Stilgees with a great 17 darter in the final leg to claim the points for St Matthews

CASEYS 4 DONEGAL CELTIC 4

Gerard Holmes(22) put the home side 1up with a tight 2-1 win over Matt Doone but it was 1-1 when Seamus Armstrong snr beat Orcan Kearney Caseys went 2-1up with a 2-1 win for Seamy Roberts (24) against Dee Ireland (28) In the next game Joe Corr(23&20) rolled back the years with a man of the match performance in a cracking 2-1 win over Dan Cahoon to make it 2-2 and the DC went 3-2 up thanks to Kevin O Carroll (27&27) beating Eugene Brannigan 2-1 but once again it was all square when Kevin Mallon(22&25) won a tight game 2-1 against Chinky Smith (26) This time Caseys went ahead with another tight game going in the favour of Matt Boyle (18&180) with a 2-1 win over Alan Hanna (26) The DC wouldn't give up and got a deserved share of the points when Sean Armstrong (26) beat Stevie Leckey 2-0

CASEYS AND HIBS 58 SHARE THE POINTS

 

Caseys 4 Hibs 58 4

It was a good match the whole way with Matt Boyle beating a unlucky Damien Corbett (23&100 fin) 2-1only for Tucker Clarke (27&27) to beat Gerry McIlduff 2-0 to level at 1-1 It was 2-1 to Caseys when Gerard Holmes (21&30 )beat Peter McDonnell jnr 2-0 and it became 3-1 when Dan Cahoon (24&28) beat Joe Dineen (28) 2-1.Hibs 58 levelled the match thanks to a 2 -1 win for Tony Corr (27&30&180) over Kevin Mallon followed by a 2-1 win for Peter McDonnell snr (19) over an unlucky Eugene Brannigan (22&180).The Caseys edged in front with a man of the match performance from Seamy Roberts (23&17) in a 2-1 win against Sean Patterson (25) 58 showed why they have stayed unbeaten for so long when Mark Lynch (20&22)beat Stevie Leckey 2-1 and leave the final score at 4-4

 

Suffolk Celtic 1 Crumlin Star 7

Crumlin travelled over to the Suffolk and made light work of things racing into a 7-0 lead Peter Fitzpatrick beat Kevin O Neill 2-1 to get them going and Freddie Stilgees made it 2-0 with a 2-0 win over Joe Flannery and it was 3-0 when Seamie Martin beat Junior McManus. Paul Porter made it 4 with a 2-1 win over Caolan Kearney and the points were safe when Tommy Henry (29&26) beat Tucker Kearney 2-1 It became 6-0 when Dougie Bowes (28&22) beat Paul Press 2-0 followed by a 2-0 win for Robert Creen against Harry Smith. In the final game Patrick McGeown (23&26) produced a man of the match performance with a 2-0 win over James Porter to get Suffolk on the scoresheet

The DC kept up their recent good form with a hard fought victory over the Star Celtic Alan Hanna beat Aaron McGovern 2-0 to put them 1-0 up and it was 2-0 when Chinky Smith (26&25) beat an unlucky Gerard Smith (17) 2-1 It was all square though when first Stephen Curley beat Seamus Armstrong snr 2-0 and was followed by Paddy McAleese beating Kevin O Carroll again 2-1 The DC edged ahead again when Sean Armstrong (25) beat Tony Kelly (23) 2-1 and they then went 4-2up when Joe Corr beat Henry mcTasney snr (24&88 fin) 2-1 The next game saw Matt Doone(21,98fin &28) about time! produce a man of the match performance to make sure of the points in a 2-1 win over Rab Lyttle and in the final game Eamon McGovern pulled one back in a 2-1 win against Davy Smith to leave the final score at 5-3 to the DC

Clonard kept the heat on 58 with a good win over Casement with Conor Hanna (28&23) beating Eddie Robb 2-0 to put them 1-0 up and it was 2-0 when man of the match Sean Paul Grant (27&16) beat Paul Condon(22) 2-1 It was 3-0 when Adam McDade (23&23) beat Chopper McKay 2-0 and it was then 4-0 when Anto Smith beat Sean Kerr 2-1In the next game Gerry McCormick (20&26) beat John McCann 2-0 to make it 4-1 and Joe Doone made it 4-2 with a 2-0 win over Kevin Campbell Dan Delaney (25&19) then stepped to beat Henry McCann (29) 2-1 and secure the points and in the final game Pearse Maguire beat Martin Lawlor 2-0 to leave it at 6-2 to Clonard

 

Forresters 1 St Matthews 7

St Matthews got back to winning ways with a solid victory away to the Forresters Getting things going was Martin Irwin(21&120fin)with a tight 2-1 win over Michael Burns(24) and it was 2-0 when Gerard McGuinness (30&27) beat Ray Lavery 2-0 The next game saw Con Kielty (24) beat Stevie Murphy(24) 2-1 in another tight game It was 4-0 when Jap McKinley (26&22)beat Martin Stafford 2-1 and the points were secured when Dessie Magee (27&25) beat Sean McCurdy 2-0 The Forresters got on the scoresheet thanks to a 2-1 win for Kevin Robinson (23&25) over Billy McDade (24).In the next game Kyle Dillon (27) beat Andy Gray 2-0 and in the final game Davy McCusker (30&18 with a104fin) produced a man of the match performance to beat Paul Stafford 2-0 and leave the final score at 7-1 to St Matthews

HIBS 58 AND CASEYS WIN SPLIT CUPS

These are the top five teams in the league contesting the top half cup and the bottom five teams contesting the bottom half cup Also a new format of 501 one leg starting and finishing on a double

St Matthews 2 Crumlin Star 5

Jap McKinley got the host club going beating Fra Glennon and Con Kielty (100/121/95)made it 2-0 beating Tommy Henry who hit the 180 Back came the Crumlin Star with Dougie Bowes beating John Considine and that was followed by Robert Creen beating Billy McDade to level matters The Star went 3-2 up when Peter Fitzpatrick beat Micky McCartan and it was 4-2 when Peter McAlorum beat Joe O Kane Seamie Martin(18) finished the match of with a man of the match performance to beat Jim Lavery and leave the final score at 5-2

Hibs 58 5 Casement 3

Mark Lynch put 58 1-0 up with a win over Chopper McKay and Peter McDonnell snr (25) put in a man of the match performance against Eddie Robb to make it 2-0 Back came Casement with Henry McCann beating Damien Corbett and Joe Doone (28) beating Sean Patterson to level at 2-2 Peter McDonnell jnr put 58 3-2 up with a win over Mickey Tierney only for Vinty Lenzi (27) to level things with a win against Martin Mooney In the next game Martin Corbett (27) beat Ricky Saddler to make it 4-3 and Tucker Clarke wrapped things up beating Gerry McCormick to leave the final score at 5-3

Crumlin Star 3 Clonard Hibs 5

Conor Hanna (25) got Hibs of with a good win over Robert Creen but Peter Fitzpatrick made it1-1 beating Dan Sloan Kevin Campbell made it 2-1 beating Freddie Stilgees and John McCann (125/85/81)made it 3-1 with a win over Paul Porter and it was 4-1 when Pearse Maguire (25&77fin)100/85/81 put in a man of the match performance against Peter McAlorum. Back came the Star when Seamie Martin beat Sean Paul Grant and that was followed by a win for Tommy Henry over Anto Smith to make it 4-3 .In the next game Dan Delaney (28) 100/81/99 threw a good game against Dougie Bowes to put Clonard Hibs into the final

CLONARD HIBS 2 HIBS 58 5

Peter McDonnell(29) put 58 1-0 up with a win over Pearse Maguire but Dan Sloan (28) then beat Tucker Clarke to make it 1-1 Dan Delaney put Clonard 2-1 up with a win over Tony Corr only for Damien Corbett to level things again beating John McCann The next game proved crucial when Conor Hanna started of with a146 start and hit 180 missed a double for 13 darter and Martin Mooney stuck in there with scores of 100/97/140 and finished in 24 darts to put 58 3-2 up and Martin Corbett beat Anto Smith to make it 4-2 and in the next game Mark Lynch (21) threw a man of the match performance hitting the 180 as well to win the final for Hibs 58

This one went the whole way with Chinky Smith (100/100/97) beating Caolan Kearney and then Kevin O Carroll (121/100) beating Jim Lynch to put DC 2-0 up Tucker Kearney (29) pulled one back with a win over Seamus Armstrong snr and Harry Smith then beat his brother Davy to make it 2-2 Joe Corr put DC 3-2 up beating James McStravick but Joe Flannery levelled it up again with a win over Alan Hanna Matt Doone (28,100/100/81) beat Junior McManus to put DC ahead again only for Patrick McGeown to step up and beat his dad Felix to make it 4-4 and send it to the last game in which Kevin O Neill (28)80/100 threw a man of the match performance and put the Suffolk Celtic men into the semifinals

Star Celtic 1 Caseys 5

Seamy Roberts (30&96fin) put Caseys 1-0 up with a win over Stephen Curley and it was 2-0 when Kevin Mallon beat Rab Lyttle Henry mcTasney snr pulled one back for the Star with a win over Eugene Brannigan Gerry McIlduff made it 3-1 with a win over Paddy McLaughlin and it was 4-1 when Orcan Kearney beat Tony Kelly and then Dan Cahoon(22) put in a man of the match performance to beat Aaron McGovern to send Caseys into the final

SEMI FINAL 2

Forresters 1 Suffolk Celtic 5

Tucker Kearney beat Andy Gray to put Suffolk 1-0 up and a man of the match performance from Junior McManus (18,92/95/95&140 finish) against Stevie Murphy made it 2-0 It was 3-0 when Joe Flannery beat Gerrard Callaghan Martin Stafford did pull one back for the Forresters with a win over Caolan Kearney but it was in vane as Kevin O Neill (28) beat Michael Burns and James McStravick (23) wrapped things up beating Ray Lavery and send Suffolk into the final

FINAL

CASEYS 5 SUFFOLK CELTIC 0

This was a very one sided final with Caseys beating Suffolk 5-0 and winning their own cup which was up for grabs for the first time

Unfortunately I didn't receive any details of the scores in the final and only got who beat who which follows

CASEYS WIN LOCAL DERBY

Caseys beat local rivals Casement Clonard Hibs have a great win away to St Matthews Donegal Celtic claim first win against Suffolk Celtic Hibs 58 beat Star Celtic to maintain 100 per cent record and Crumlin Star beat the Forresters

Caseys won the bragging rights in this local derby Dan Cahoon (20) beat Paul Condon (24) 2-1 to make it 1-0 and it was 2-0 when Seamy Roberts (26&21) beat Eddie Robb (25) 2-1 It was then 3-0 when Kevin Mallon (28&20) beat Michael Tierney Things got even better when Matt Boyle (26&21) beat Joe Doone (23) 2-1 and the points were safe when Gerard Holmes (18&26) beat Henry McCann 2-0 Up next Gerry McCormick (23) got Casement on the board with a 2-0 win over Steven Leckey to make it 5-1 and Eugene Brannigan made it 6-1 with a 2-0 win over Vinty Lenzi and in the final game Ricky Saddler (25&19) beat Paul Smith 2-0 to leave the final score at 6-2 to Caseys

DC got their first win of the season with a good win against Suffolk Celtic. Seamie Martin (25) then made it 4-0 with a 2-0 win over Michael Burns The Forresters got on the scoresheet thanks to a 2-1 win for Martin Stafford over James Porter and it was then 4-2 when Kevin Robinson (27) beat Tommy Henry (180) 2-1 but then Peter Fitzpatrick stepped in with a 2-0 win against Gerard Callaghan to secure the points and in the final game the evergreen Andy Gray beat Peter McAlorum 2-1 to leave the final score at 5-3 to the Star

At this point I would like to apologise for no report last week due to unforeseen circumstances but I would like to give a quick round up of the results
