Welcome back to the FonaCab Central darts league where after two weeks of cup action all focus was back on the league. With Hibs 58 clear at the top and the rest in pursuit every match matters in what guarantees to be an exciting run in.

Caseys 3 - 5 O’Donnells

The first match of the night saw Caseys welcome O’Donnells who were fresh off their recent cup success. Game 1 saw O’Donnells continue where they left off with Paul Press taking care of Stevie Leckey 2-0 in 20 darts. Rab Green followed suit beating Paul Smyth 2-0 in 24 and 25 darts before Ricky Saddler extended O’Ds lead beating Liam McMenamin 2-1. Dan Cahoon weighed in with a man of the match display to reduce the deficit. Cahoon beating Brendan McStravick 2-0 in 21 and 25 darts. Kev O’Neill quickly reestablished O’Donnells lead beating Peter Leckey 2-0 before Butch Mallon pulled one back for the Caseys men. Mallon beating Tucker Kearney 2-1 with a brace of 26 darts. Eddie Robb took care of Olcan Kearney 2-0 in 25 and 30 darts before Eugene Brannigan finished strongly for Caseys beating Stevie Jones 2-1 in 25 darts.

Hibs 58 6 - 2 Clonard Hibs

Match two saw the Hibs derby between league leaders Hibs 58 and Clonard Hibs. Game 1 saw Tony Corr get Hibs 58 off to a good start beating Dan Delaney 2-1. Martin Mooney quickly made it 2-0 beating John McGrath before Adam McDade reduced the margin in beating Martin Corbett 2-0. Davy McCusker overcame Stephen Magee 2-0 before Conor Hanna pulled one back beating Sean Patterson. Peter McDonnell weighed in with a man of the match performance to beat John McCann 2-0 in 19 and 21 darts. Tucker Clarke beat Tommy Fitzpatrick 2-1 before Mark Lynch beat Conor Toner 2-1.

The Forresters 3 - 5 St Matthews

Match three saw St Matthews make the journey to the Forresters with both teams looking to continue their good form. Kevin Robinson got the home side off to a flyer beating John Consadine 2-0. Freddie Steagles produced a man of the match performance to make it 2-0 to the Forresters. Steagles beating Jap McKinley 2-1 with a brace of 23 darts. Martin Irwin rallied his team beating Martin Stafford 2-1 in 27 darts before Paul Stafford reestablished The Forresters lead beating Jimmy Lavery 2-0 in 27 darts. With the game slipping away from them St Matts relied on Pat McGahan, who duly obliged by beating John Toner 2-0 in 24 darts with a 180 along the way. Con Kielty followed suit by beating Andy Gray 2-1 with a brace of 30 darts before Joe O’Kane provided St Matts with the lead. O’Kane beating Sean McCurdy 2-0 in 26 and 27 darts. Mick McCartan completed the turnaround by beating Ray Lavery 2-0.

Donegal Celtic 3 - 5 Star Celtic

Match 4 saw Donegal Celtic welcome Star Celtic with both teams looking to build on their recent good form. Paddy McKeown got DC off to a good start beating Aaron McGovern 2-1 in 24 and 25 darts. Rab Lyttle restored parity in beating Paddy McGuinness 2-1 before Gerard Smith provided Star Celtic with the lead beating Kevin O’Carroll 2-1. Gerard Burns produced a well timed man of the match performance to extend their lead. Burns beating Chinky Smith 2-1 in 21 and 25 darts with a 180 along the way, with Chinky providing stern resistance with a 19 darter. Matt Doone rallied his team in beating Eamon McGovern 2-1 before J McLaughlin levelled the match beating Stephen Curley 2-0. With the match finely poised Tony Kelly wrestled back the lead for the Star Celtic men beating Sean Armstrong 2-1 in 19 darts before Paddy McAlleese overcame Seany Armstrong 2-1 to guarantee the points for Star Celtic.

Crumlin Star 4 - 4 Casement

The final match of the night saw Casement make the journey to Crumlin Star with both teams fancying their chances of full points. Game 1 saw Tommy Henry get the home side off to a good start beating James Doone 2-0. Gerry McCormick quickly levelled the match beating James Porter 2-0 in 18 darts before Henry McCann provided Casement with the lead by beating Jim Flanagan 2-0 with a brace of 23 darts. Ben Lagan produced a man of the match display to level the match. Lagan beating Paul Condon 2-0 in 15 and 25 darts. Michael Tierney reclaimed the lead for Casement beating Dougie Bowes 2-1 before Paul Porter restored parity once again beating Ciaran McKay 2-0. Peter Fitzpatrick provided Crumlin Star with the lead going into the last game. Fitzpatrick beating Martin Lavery 2-1. The last game saw Vinty Lenzie battle it out with Frankie McGeogh. Both men scored well, however it was to be Lenzie to prevail a 2-1 winner in 25 darts to ensure a share of the spoils for both teams.

Looking forward to next week we have the Top half/bottom half cups hosted by Hibs and St Matthews. With the end of the season in sight and fewer chances of cup success all teams will be chomping at the bit to claim their own piece of glory.
